Part 3

In this tutorial, my aim is to cover everything you need to know about SEO link building, including ways to build backlinks and common questions you may have.
Before I begin, let’s me quickly go through some fundamentals.
- Link building is about building links FROM other websites to YOUR website, not from YOUR website to OTHER websites. You may laugh, but many newbies can’t even get this idea right.
- Next fundamental. In the SEO world, we often use the word backlink, which refers to links from OTHER websites TO your website. If you link to other websites, that’s NOT a backlink to you.
- Last fundamental. SEO link building is not just about building backlinks. It’s about building SEO backlinks. (Read this article on the difference between a backlink and an SEO backlink.)
Once you are clear on the fundamentals, let’s move on to the exciting part……

Product Review: Perfect Traffic Storm

Perfect Traffic Storm is a new site that says it guarantees more CONVERTING web visitors and online advertising with very little effort or cost. So I decided to put it to the test...

My first impression was the site looks professional and clean, with an attractive look and feel. It is easy to read and understand. Joining the site was easy and painless--they do offer 2 upgrade options but they are not required to gain the benefits.

The Members Area is very well laid out and intuitive--I could figure out what to do after only a few minutes and was able to get up and running in less than 5 minutes. Inside the site, you create links and ads--the links you simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into "Perfect Traffic Storm" links. You create ads for anything you want to promote using the Perfect Traffic Storm Ad Generator, which is very easy to use. You can create as many links and as many ads as you like. And they are organized in a logical way--links are displayed in the order you create them but also your 5 most recent links appear on the main page for quick reference. Also, since the link generator is the tool you'll use most, it is also right at the top of the main page when you login. Very smart!

After you've created at least 1 link and 1 ad you can start to generate traffic. Just use and promote the new Perfect Traffic Storm link instead of the original source link you had. Every time the Perfect Traffic Storm link is clicked, the page loads followed by a cool slide-up ad window at the bottom. It displays an ad PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Perfect Traffic Storm. So if anyone clicks the Perfect Traffic Storm image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral. It's a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.

Now every time the ad window displays (your Perfect Traffic Storm links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members' links get clicked. So the more clicks, the more times your ads get displayed.

And this works virally--meaning as you make referrals into Perfect Traffic Storm (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Perfect Traffic Storm image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks. And this works up to 5 levels deep. So you can create a massive amount of free ad views and web traffic by referring others to Perfect Traffic Storm also.

I didn't get to test the full effect of a big downline yet (I just got the tool) but I can tell you the rest of the site works exactly as stated--my links got clicked, I earned credits, and my ads got displayed. Perfect Traffic Storm even tracked my results so I know how many clicks and how many ad displays. That was an impressive unadvertised extra feature.

There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all--downline emailing. You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Perfect Traffic Storm really shines. They took time to make the emailing often enough that it's valuable as a user, but no so often that it's a burden to your downline. But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again. Now THAT's cool.

Overall I have to say I am impressed with Perfect Traffic Storm. It is simple yet powerful, and delivers on its promises. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase traffic and advertising.

See it and join here:

A huge virus coming?

Here is an email I found that I thought I'd post here in case it is for real to warn our readers/subscribers....

I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this
> virus!
> I checked Snopes, and it is for real. Get this E-mail message sent
> around to all your contacts ASAP.
>
> PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!
>
> You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message
> with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK,'regardless of who
> sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which
> 'burns' the whole hard disc C drive of your computer.
>
> This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address on
> his/her contact list. That is the reason why you need to send this
> e-mail to all your contacts using their email address on the Bcc:
> (before carbon copy) as it does not show their email to others. It is
> better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and
> open it!
>
> If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even if it is sent to you by a
> friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately. This is the
> worst virus announced by CNN.
>
> It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever.
> This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair
> yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector
> of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.

Starting a small business blog.

If you run a small business you may want to consider starting your own blog to raise awareness about what you do.

There are some basic strategies you can use to start your blog. Consider who your audience is and write on subjects that will make them want to read your blog. Select a blog service that helps you build traffic and sends alerts if a reader comments on one of your posts.

Use an angle that will be compelling to your readers and at the same time be sincere in your views. Provide links on your blog to other sites that are related to your business and read the other blogs to stay informed about events or news that is happening in your field. Eventually other bloggers will start linking to your blog.

Keep your blog up to date so readers don't become frustrated with outdated content and will keep returning to see what you are saying. Keep tabs on your traffic to your site and don't be afraid to try other ideas to capture a larger audience.

Search engines like Google or Yahoo are another part of attracting readers to your blog. To generate traffic, use keywords in your headlines and blog postings that are related to your business.

Use an RSS feed so first time visitors to your blog will comeback again. If you connect readers with your blog's RSS feed your content will be syndicated whenever you write a new post.

Respond to comments you receive about your blog post even if they are negative or offer a perspective you don't agree with. Use your own voice and be honest.

Here is a link for a summary of five free blog services.

If you are not comfortable with writing your own blog you can turn to someone who works for your small business to write for your blog or a family member or friend who knows and understands the business. Also it's not a bad idea to have an occasional guest blogger write a post for your blog for variety and to fill in if you are not available.

Blogging is not just for large corporations it can benefit your small business by helping to create your brand. Even if you don't think you have a brand the truth is you do. Your customers or clients will view your blog as something real that shows how focused you are on the services you provide and can establish your business as an industry leader.

Here are some main reasons to start a small business blog.

1. A blog is an economic way to market your small business and enhance your brand, reputation and sales.

2. Blogs can provide you with immediate customer feedback. If you receive negative feedback look at it as a way to improve your business.

3. Blogs are easier and less costly to manage than a Web site for your small business.

4. Blogs can help attract new customers along with opening up the possibilities for new partnerships.

5. Blogs can help you and others learn and communicate about what your business does.
